March 31st is Cesar Chavez’s birthday, a national holiday. Chavez’s legacy is well known, but less well known are the shoulders he stood on – Los Tres Grandes – Dr. Julian Samora, Dr. Ernesto Galarza, and Mr. Herman Gallegos, MSW. Reclaiming historical legacies means telling their groundbreaking stories and how they pioneered new paths for Chicana/o leadership. While Dr. Richard A. Navarro will moderate this event, Dr. Carmen Samora will conduct a lecture on these three pioneers in the Chicana/o community.
